How to be and look prettier

Nowadays everything is about appearance.  Having the best skin, hair, nails, and clothes. When you look good, you feel good! When I have been relaxing all-day still in my pajamas, hair not done, nail polish chipping away I really don’t feel at my best. I’m less chipper and don’t feel like I can conquer the world the way I would if I looked top-notch, okay!?

I love being able to change my appearance and express myself through my image. I love creating, that’s what I do. That is the beautiful side of the beauty-obsessed lovers like me. Trying different hairstyles, switching up your wardrobe, wearing statement pieces can all add to feeling better about your physical image. 

Although image plays a huge part in who we are and how ppl perceive us, it is not everything.  Every person is unique and made in the perfect image, no two are the same. Social media can paint this picture that you have to be and look a certain way to be “cool”. But you know the saying “ what glitters isn’t always gold”. Being yourself is the dopest way to be because no one can beat that or be you! Finding the beauty in yourself regardless of what anyone says, without reassurance from others, and being confident in you is the prettiest feature about you. To love yourself is to accept yourself. That is pretty, more than anything.

Self-care is very important to me and if your reading this it is for you too. Building yourself up mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually plays a huge role in having a good balance in life. Although it can be difficult sometimes to keep up, you are capable. Trust me, I work at this every day and stumble often, but if you get up and keep pushing great things will come your way.

I want to share with you my top tips on self-care. The things that help me look and feel my best and I believe will help you too!

Skin

It is very important to keep your skin in tip-top shape. Our skin helps fight off infection, so if we don’t take care of our skin by keeping it cleansed and moisturized it could affect your skin’s ability to fight off infection. 

  • Skincare Routine

Hair

Just like your skin, home hair care is very important. You want to always keep in mind the quality of hair care products you are using. Shampooing your hair helps remove dirt, debris, and oils from your hair. This can be a place to produce disease-producing bacteria if not cleaned regularly. You should only shampoo your hair as needed. People with oily hair should shampoo their hair more often, whereas normal to dry hair not as much. 

Conditioning your hair is very important as well. Although conditioner and conditioning masks don’t miraculously heal your hair, it can strengthen damaged hair and help protect it. 

 Choose your shampoo and conditioner based on your hair type: oily, dry, normal, or chemically treated. If you’re looking to restore your hair keep in mind that your hair’s texture and structure are based on your genetics, health, and diet.  



Makeup

Whether your the type to wear a full face of makeup or prefer to go with a more natural look, makeup is a great way to boost your confidence. Makeup is excellent for switching up your look, by being bold, or by creating a look that represents you. It’s great because you can have so much fun with it and customize your own personal style.

Style

Health

Your health plays a major role in the condition of your skin, hair, and nails as well as loads of other things. Making sure that you are keeping a well-balanced lifestyle will help aid in your overall appearance.  Take the time to come up with how you will create an overall lifestyle that will help you mentally, physically and emotionally.

things to do:

  • Relax by resting your mind
  • Pamper yourself
  • Having fun doing the things that bring  you joy and make you happy
  • Learning yourself
  • Feeding your spiritual self (build yourself up)
  • Exercise
  • Eat healthy foods that promote good health 
  • Healthy foods for hair and skin
