Ever since I can remember I’ve always had an eye for decor. Whether its organizing, or just making things around me beautiful.It’s been a year since we moved into our first home.
I have to admit decorating is something that I have taken my time with. It’s been important for me, getting inspiration and detailing exactly how I want my home to look and feel.
I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m going for a rustic glam look, with a touch of mid-century modern style. If that makes any sense at all. lol

Lighting is one fundamental you cannot go without when decorating a space. Whether it be natural lighting or artificial, proper lighting can bring 3-dimensional qualities to boring sculptures and open your decorative space up to refreshing visuals.
Speaking of visuals, who is guilty of walking past every mirror and glancing at yourself?!?! If you answered yes, I have to say I’m just as guilty. Mirrors can dress up a room when placed strategically. Steer away from random mirror placements as they can often throw the attention away from your hard work!
Do however experiment with not only mirrors but mirrored furniture or accent pieces that will reflect your creativity throughout the space of your choosing!
Plant Decor
Not everyone has a green thumb, and greenery has been one of the most popular home accents.
If your not the type to care for real plants, artificial plants can be a cheaper alternative. Artificial plants have less upkeep and look just like real plants. Home decor plants can make any room feel light and airy.

When it comes to shelves there are endless possibilities to show off your personal style.
Combine picture frames, statues, or your fav books. A Book shelf is a fun and easy space to add your personal touch on any surface.

You could also bring this space to life by adding a bit of rustic charm with a wagon wheel or other antiques. You don’t always have to go out and purchase new items, sometimes its great to have decor that people have passed down or that you may already have around the house. These can be the statement pieces you can create with a DIY project to add character and make any room interesting.
When it comes to patterns, curtains, and pillows these are a great way to add a bit of character to a room without making it feel overly busy.
